WHO: All That Glitters is Gold-stein

Lori Goldstein, one of my favorite stylists, is at it again. While styling campaigns for fashion biggies like Vera Wang and Tiffany & Co., we have been waiting with baited breath to have her back in fashion editorial. Why?

Rihanna has never looked sexier, classier, and just plain untouchable. Lori Goldstein has an amazing talent for bringing clothing and accessories to life. The Dior coat and Van Cleef & Arpels lariat, are both bold statement items yet Goldstein styles them to look as if Rihanna were born in the outfit. Flawless and chic, the Goldstein way. We’re happy she’s back and can’t wait to see what and who she’s styling next.

WHAT: Glamour-ous Double Take

We raided news stands today for February issues and “spotted” Katy Perry on the cover of Glamour. Ms. Perry looks fabulous. The pink and electric blue combination provides a great contrast and the ruffles are flirty and young. However, the print she’s sporting looks a lot like a dress styled for one of Glamour’s most recent covers.

Rihanna’s strapless Balmain dress on the December 2009 cover looks very similar to the Blugirl by Bluemarine pictured on Perry above.

Animal print is a major trend this season and with an abundance of prints to choose from one would think that Glamour editors would have dug deeper dressing the newly engaged Perry.

What do you think? Are these dresses too similar for a cover that hit stands a month apart?

HOW: Rihanna (Again)

We haven’t published many posts on how to get the look, but when we do it’s usually how to get Rihanna’s. She has impeccable style and great taste. The look below is one of our favorites because of her use of animal print. The leopard scarf and matching print bag is in perfect balance with her navy pea-coat and grey knit hat.

To get her look shop the boutique below:

We have also had a hard time finding a pair of black leather, knee high boots. I find I either look like a pirate or Edward Scissorhands.

But Rihanna knows how to pull it off. She finishes the look off with a pair of black leggings and knee high boots.

HOW: Suit Up (Halfway)

The Lady Gaga buzz has me thinking about my old bodysuits. I wouldn’t recommend wearing them pant-less. However, the massive love for her leggy looks has hit home with the likes of Rihanna, Leighton Meester, and Carrie Underwood.

Of course, if you’re inspired, you can sport the look. Just be sure to pair the suit with a pair of pants. One of our favorites is this black suit by Kiki De Montparnasse. Not only does it touch on sheer but it also exudes a bit of Gaga.

How: Rihanna’s Midriff

On June 11th The 5Ws reported on how midriffs would be coming back with a vengeance. And that they are! Check out Rihanna’s tasteful interpretation of the trend comeback…

Get the look with some crop tops from Topshop and Hope. Embellish like Rihanna with fringe gold bracelets that compliment her skin tone trousers and simple black clutch. Click here for some great bangle options by Alex and Ani and Bop Bijoux.

I love the minimalistic move with the small clutch and high waisted pants. For just $89 you can snag a pair of cropped high waisted pants from C.P. Company. Match the clutch with one like the Novella Royale pictured below. And you can’t go wrong with a pair of Ray Bans! If you don’t own a pair already, pick up a staple pair of your favorite color. There are so many to choose from.

And on her feet, a pair of leopard print pumps. Animal print is all the rage and a nice printed pump completes this look. Get yours from Brian Atwood, Nanette Lepore, or Christian Louboutin, to name a few.

Happy Shopping!
