HOW: Double Time

I’m not sure we’ve seen the last of oversized totes, necklaces, bangles, and shoe soles…I don’t know about you, but I definitely need a break!

When accessorizing, these days, I opt for the smaller items like gold band rings, tiny charm bracelets, and thread like chain necklaces. Bags have always been a different story, since I love bags, and large ones at that.

But the other day when I was getting ready to step out, my back said, “I need a day off….”

So, in respect for my lower back and left shoulder, I chose two smaller cross body bags as an alternative to my Mary Poppins like shoulder bag.

Layering two smaller bags over each other and stuffing one with primaries like cell phone, wallet, keys, lip-gloss, and the other with secondary necessities like eye drops, lotion, mints, notepad, ect, I found that I felt lighter.

Check out these great layerable cross body bags. Some great combos? The snake print Banana Republic bag on top of the metallic silver metallic Rebecca Minkoff. Take the black, woven leather Linea Pelle bag and stack it on top of the silver studded Tylie Malibu number…

Fashion Flipping: Gwyneth Paltrow @ “Kate Who”

c/o JustJared

Gwyneth Paltrow is the master at finding the most indiscrete ways to dress casually while looking chic, trendy, and enviously stylish.  This outfit, which Gwyneth wore to “Kate Who?,” celebrity photographer, Mario Testino’s exhibition of supermodel Kate Moss,  is a brilliant combination of basic high wasted shorts with a soft and flexible white button shirt.  We admire the flowing, summer feel of the shirt and short ensemble. To add a little accent and pop, notice how she added a silver metallic clutch and rhinestone (or diamond) horn necklace to turn basic into beautiful.

This Maya Brenner horn necklace is handcrafted and encrusted with diamonds.

Looking for a clutch to match?  This “Hamptons Clutch” by Jack Rogers is accented with intricate stitching and perforated leather which gives the accessory a vintage feel.
