At the Bag Trends Party for LaLucca handbags, there were some great works of art by Peter Tunney that accompanied the unique, hand painted clutches. See below for some of New and Worthy’s favorite items. We’ve expressed some sadness recently realizing that fashion as art has been absent from the scene – this event was refreshing. We are inspired that Michelle Obama took time out of her busy schedule to read to 200 local students in honor of Dr. Suess’ birthday. She recited the rhyming lines from “The Cat In The Hat” to children wearing red and white high hats!

We put some items together so you can channel your inner child -

Packing for a vacation can be stressful. When you depart for islands, spas,  and getaways unknown, stress should be left behind.

We think the carry-on is the most fun to pack. It is essential that it’s packed lightly and thoroughly.

I find that a carry-on full of toiletries (see here for restrictions), magazines, intimates, running clothes and running shoes eliminates overstuffing in larger luggage. I like to check one bag, if I must, when travelling.  Rolling suitcases are the best option for a carry-on.

You must be sure that your make up is stashed separately from your toiletries. We don’t want drenched makeup brushes – beware the spill.

I never thought I would see the day when fanny packs re-surfaced but traveling is the perfect time to break them out. You can store your passport, money, id, lip-gloss and anything else that you don’t want to dig for right at your hip.

These are only a few items that can help get you through the airport without feeling disheveled and overpacked.

And if you’re flying out of JFK be sure to pack an assortment of magazines – with the new project in place you’re in for a wait.

Since ice dance became an Olympic sport in 1976, a Russian or Soviet couple had taken the gold, except on two occasions. But this year patience and hard work paid off when Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir took home the gold.

For me, as you may have noticed, fashion is about accessorizing. Adding a bracelet, ring, and/or necklace to a drab outfit can make all the difference. Just recently, I have decided to place cardigans in the accessory category.

There are so many different types of cardigans that allow us to wear tank tops and t-shirts in the winter! My favorite is a leopard print number passed down from my mother. I wear it way too often.
