Sunday Sit Down: Spring Time

Picture 1

Spring is around the corner and it blossomed this weekend with lightweight coats and crowded parks.

Normally animals grow extra fur to keep warm throughout the chilly winter weather, but facial hair for spring is hot. Literally. (We’re not implying that men are animals…really). Along with beards and staches, milatary green and brass buttons will be marching the streets. We’re looking forward to nude lips and clogged feet – wooden soles and neutrals are on the most wanted list.

Sunday Sit Down: Patience Is A Virtue

Since ice dance became an Olympic sport in 1976, a Russian or Soviet couple had taken the gold, except on two occasions. But this year patience and hard work paid off when Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir took home the gold.

Not only did we love the routine but the photo gallery on their website is fashion forward and trendy! Here is a shot of Tessa in a gorgeous tulle skirt and toe shoes.

The stacked pearl bracelets give this basic black outfit a little pop. We’ve included some options below -

With a great variety of photos in the gallery we also picked this more subdued image. The layered turquoise necklaces dress up any look.

Sunday Sit Down: The Cardigans

For me, as you may have noticed, fashion is about accessorizing. Adding a bracelet, ring, and/or necklace to a drab outfit can make all the difference. Just recently, I have decided to place cardigans in the accessory category.

There are so many different types of cardigans that allow us to wear tank tops and t-shirts in the winter! My favorite is a leopard print number passed down from my mother. I wear it way too often.

Check out some of these unique ways to wear cardigans from the spring ‘10 runways. Spring is just around the corner. I can feel it.

The great thing about cardigans is the versatility. Richard Chai shows that you can wear one with a gorgeous flowing dress.

Metallics are the tone of the season. We love this one by Jaeger London – but be careful when converting cardigan into dress. Make sure it’s a tasteful length and won’t be mistaken for “Wow-she forgot to put on pants today.”

So when shopping for and dressing in cardigans the possibilities are endless. Be sure to mix and match with the great options below -

Sunday Sit Down: Weekend Look – Fashion Flipping

Fashion week is well under way and we’ve come across some great party looks! We’re loving this casual look that German model, Julia Stegner, wore to celebrate Opening Ceremony’s new Ace Hotel shop.

Sunday Sit Down: Unisex

One thing we really love about jewelry is the option to wear men’s pieces. Leather wrap bracelets, thick cuffs, and dog tags have come full circle with men’s trousers and button down shirts. The androgyny gives us ladies a little more to work with.

The Gravity bracelet by Barbara Campbell allows us to do so without even trying. This unisex bracelet is made from steel, suede, and sterling silver. For just $85 you can either stack them or wear just one.

Check out the same style in red. The strap is made from leather and retails for just $10 more than the suede pictured above. To add pop, mix and match color and material. And if you’re looking for a gift for that special someone this Valentine’s Day, the red Gravity bracelet is the perfect present!

Sunday Sit Down: Diamond in the Rough

It’s not everyday you come across jewelry that possesses a consistent balance between modern and vintage elements. Jennifer Elizabeth has a great talent of combining the two, which really sets her collection apart from the masses. The intricate details, color, and originality drew me to this young, excelling designer. We are also drawn to the exclusivity of her collection – each piece is hand made and one of a kind.

I’m always on the look out for that perfect pair of earrings. One that makes a statement, won’t weigh me, or my outfit, down, and is versatile enough to wear on a daily basis. These gold earrings are subtle yet stunning and can be worn with a plain white t-shirt or a glittering gown.

Layering t-shirts, tank tops, and even scarves are on trend this season. I don’t like to spend a lot of time layering necklaces, chains, bangles, and bracelets. Why? Because I have to wake up an extra ten minutes early just to begin stacking! This necklace comes layered with bright beads in the form of wood, glass, and plastic.

It’s rumored that elephants are good luck – we could all use a little extra luck these days. Why not sport this fantastic beaded necklace? And for under $100 it’s a great piece to rock when you’re looking to add a little color and pop to a drab outfit.

Sunday Sit Down: Key To My Heart

W Editors’ Blog was in Geneva last week previewing the newest and most STUNNING watches and “fine” jewelry. First, I would like to thank Tayla Cousins for documenting the preview. Piaget’s Limelight Jazz Party collection is nothing short of jazzy. This watch made from baquette-cut diamonds and black spinel have us swooning and inspired.

Sunday Sit Down: Drop It Cause It’s Hot

Women: Mediterranean princess earring - Clear

During the 67th Annual Golden Globe Awards we witnessed touching speeches, elegant gowns, and dazzling jewelry. A recurring theme on the red carpet were large teardrop earrings in the form of emeralds, diamonds, and various semi-precious stones. Some of our favorites were spotted on stars like Courtney Cox and Julianne Moore.

These earrings don’t have to be saved for occasions that require a red carpet strut. Pair them with your favorite t-shirt and jean combo.
