Currently Craving: Melody Ehsani

Welcome to our new category – Currently Craving. This section covers all that we’re presently obsessed with.

For our first craving we would like to introduce you to Melody Ehsani. The pieces in her collection are somewhat risky but bold and most definitely fresh.

Check out these silver metallic, peep toe, platforms  - They’re wildly hot and retail under $200!

We’re on the verge of “over” bib necklaces but this hot pink and black combo have us second guessing.

WHAT: Art + Accessories

At the Bag Trends Party for LaLucca handbags, there were some great works of art by Peter Tunney that accompanied the unique, hand painted clutches. See below for some of New and Worthy’s favorite items. We’ve expressed some sadness recently realizing that fashion as art has been absent from the scene – this event was refreshing. Thank you Bag Trends for another awesome event!

WHERE: Snowed In

Crazy weather we’re having. Whether you’re snowed in or trekking through the snow powdered streets, being warm and cozy can still be stylish.

This sweater (not entire outfit) is sexy yet warm. Boy By Band Of Outsiders takes knit to a new level with this silver large knit top.

Just because the skies are grey doesn’t mean your wardrobe should match. Play it up with some color from Marc by Marc Jacobs.

Preppy never looked so good with this white and navy knit by Lacoste. Yes, it’s short sleeves but one of our favorite looks is layering with a long sleeve to keep even warmer.

WHERE: Row, Row, Row Your Boat…

gently down the runway with Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen. The twin’s collection, The Row, was beautifully ethereal with a touch of edge. This was demonstrated with tight black leather, sheer tops, and animal print skirts and clutches.

This look screams bad a$$. The all back ensemble with leather accents make for a strong start.

Then the collection flowed into delicate looks like this white sheer outfit worn by our favorite – Sasha Pivovarova.

The twins were on trend with this one shoulder number. We love how they added draping accents in order to upgrade a basic black dress.

And ever since Alber Elbaz went out on a limb combining navy with black – we love the idea more. This outfit is risky but the print, sheer sleeves, and bronze clutch work well together.

The collection was fresh and fun. We love what the Olsens are doing. And from what we hear – the show was a full house.

WHAT: Alice + Olivia

Alice + Olivia’s presentation mixed flirty with biker babe. My style isn’t normally frilly but with black leather jackets, metallic trench coats, and herem pants thrown in the mix, I don’t mind a little ruffle.

After launching at Barneys eight years ago designer, Stacey Bendet, has been on Vanity Fair’s best dressed list two years in a row. It’s no wonder we love her newest collection!

Here is one of our favorite looks from Fall 2010 -

The look above is our daily outfit with some great accents and upgrades. Bendet makes it easy for us to feel less like a cartoon character and more fashion forward. Each piece makes a great separate – herem pants with a white t-shirt, black leather jacket with a mini skirt…

Here are some great finds from her current collection -

WHEN: Let The Games Begin – Kimberly Ovitz

It’s the first day of fashion week and aside from the sad, morbid, and shocking news of Alexander McQueen’s untimely death, the weather was crisp and some of the collections were refreshing. Our favorite designer of the day was Kimberly Ovitz. New to the runway scene, two years fresh, Ovitz reminds us that we don’t have wear tight clothes and stilettos to be sexy.

The look above is baggy yet feminine. The layering and draping detail hits the body in all the right places. Normally shorts like this are hard to pull off, especially if you lack lengthy legs, but with the cuff option its a look that anyone can wear.

Exposed shoulders are looking trendy for Fall ‘10. A basic black dress goes along way with asymmetrical lines and swooping collar.

Ovitz remained consistent throughout her 55 look collection – asymmetry, mesh, basic dresses with a touch of sex, and shoes to die for. We love a bootie with a street stopping sole.

Here is our favorite look from her S/S ‘10 collection:

WHERE: Head Over Heels

Holy snow! What a beautiful day. And just five more days until Valentine’s Day. We definitley went outside and played in the snow today and wore our favorite pair of shoes – Ospop. These are the most comfortable and warm shoes that I’ve ever owned. Forget Uggs, Hunter, Converse – Ospop is all of those combined with a story. And for Valetine’s Day we’ve woven in a pair of red laces to keep us in the spirit – even though white seems to be the prominent color of the day.

Looking for some warm weather boots and stylist booties in red – shop of favorites below:

Sunday Sit Down: Unisex

One thing we really love about jewelry is the option to wear men’s pieces. Leather wrap bracelets, thick cuffs, and dog tags have come full circle with men’s trousers and button down shirts. The androgyny gives us ladies a little more to work with.

The Gravity bracelet by Barbara Campbell allows us to do so without even trying. This unisex bracelet is made from steel, suede, and sterling silver. For just $85 you can either stack them or wear just one.

Check out the same style in red. The strap is made from leather and retails for just $10 more than the suede pictured above. To add pop, mix and match color and material. And if you’re looking for a gift for that special someone this Valentine’s Day, the red Gravity bracelet is the perfect present!
